Social Attention and Language Lab

The SoAL lab at CHOP studies clinical language and social attention phenotypes across the lifespan in individuals with neurodevelopmental or psychiatric differences.

Led by Dr. Julia Parish-Morris, we are especially interested in using computational approaches – including NLP and machine learning – to quantify social communication, with a focus on understudied subgroups like autistic girls.

We are recruiting undergraduate students to intern in our lab for Summer 2024 and Fall 2024! Please submit an application here. Reach out to carlangaugelab@chop.edu to learn more.
